Kellie Walker

Kellie joined Timpany Walton in 2007 and together with her colleague, Aiden Broughton, was admitted to the Bar in July 2008.

It was a unique occasion for Timaru, the first bar admission ceremony to be held in the city for five years and rare for two young Timaru lawyers to be admitted to the Bar together.

Kellie grew up in Timaru and has family in the city. During her studies at Otago University she found Criminal law to be the area that most interested her. She is now working in Criminal Law, Family Law, Litigation and Employment.

“Communication is crucial to the areas in which I work: the ability to listen to clients and have empathy with their concerns,“ says Kellie.

She enjoys having contact with a broad range of clients, and she appreciates how good communication extends to the high standards needed to accurately and clearly draft documents.

Kellie was head girl at Temuka High School (now known as Opihi College) and has served as a school ambassador for Otago University. She plays netball for the Fire Netball Team and outside work, enjoys having family time and socialising.
