Maarten Dirkzwager
becomes an Associate
Timpany Walton has pleasure in announcing the promotion of solicitor Maarten Dirkzwager to the position of Associate.
Maarten joined Timpany Walton in 2004. He specialises in the area of Commercial Law.
Other legal areas he works in include house and farm sales and purchases, employment agreements and disputes, family trusts, asset and estate protection, wills and enduring powers of attorney, civil litigation, including debt collection, insolvency and bankruptcy.
Maarten grew up in Timaru, completing his education at Timaru Boys High School. After graduating from Canterbury University Maarten lived in Europe for four years, working in London in the Insolvency Service for the Department of Trade and Industry and in Amsterdam for the Immigration Office.
Maarten appreciates the practical application the law has in real life. He receives personal satisfaction from working with clients, problem solving, within a legal framework, in a way that makes a difference; advising commercial clients and assisting them to protect their future.
Outside of work, Maarten enjoys playing soccer, tramping and hunting. Maarten is a Trustee of the Timaru Mental Health Support Trust and Secretary of the Northern Hearts Association Football Club.
